document.write('
On Feb. 19 and 20, Peel District School Board students and teachers will gather at Fletcher’s Meadow Secondary School along with representatives from environmental organizations across Ontario to participate in the EcoBuzz Conference and Environmental Youth-Adult Partnerships (EYAP) Provincial Symposium organized by EcoSource and the Peel Environment Youth Alliance (PEYA).

“Fletcher’s Meadow is committed to protecting the environment,” says Mary Nanavati, principal at Fletcher’s Meadow. “Opportunities like EcoBuzz and the symposium empower students and encourage them to take action for global change. We’re proud to host this event for our community.”

The seventh annual EcoBuzz Conference offers over 350 young participants an opportunity to explore environmental issues using various media. It also inspires students to lead environmental action projects in their schools and communities.

The conference will begin with a keynote address by Matt Tod, a youth leadership expert from the Institute for Health and Human Potential. Students and teachers will then attend a variety of interactive workshops on topics like student leadership, local food, drumming, nature appreciation through art, environmental justice, outdoor survival, environmental education policy, waste reduction and urban agriculture.

“The EcoBuzz Conference is an opportunity to inspire meaningful participation in environmental action projects,” says Stephanie Crocker, Youth-Adult Partnerships Program Manager, EcoSource. “With the addition of the inaugural EYAP Provincial Symposium this year, we can explore how adults and youth best work together to make sure these actions create sustained change for the health of our communities.”

The EYAP Provincial Symposium will provide an opportunity for organizations and individuals involved in youth-adult partnerships (YAPs) for environmental action to network, learn from others, improve skills and strategize ways to enhance YAPs across Ontario.

PEYA is a network of action-oriented students in the Peel Region concerned about environmental issues and determined to make positive change. PEYA provides a forum to share student ideas, support to other students and teachers looking to create environmental projects, and fun and effective educational events. PEYA is a project of environmental education organization, EcoSource. The EcoBuzz Conference and EYAP Project are generously funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
');
